APSC CCE Syllabus: The official announcement of the Assam Public Service Commission’s Combined Competitive Examination, 2023 (APSC CCE 2023) was recently released. The Assamese government has posted this announcement to fill 235 positions in a variety of cadres.

APSC CCE Syllabus

The Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) is held by the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) in order to select eligible candidates for a range of Assam civil service jobs. There are two sections to the APSC CCE syllabus: the preliminary test and the main exam.

To update the Assam Public Services Combined Competitive Examination Rules, 1989, the state government has added a few additional clauses and established the following guidelines:

This is the list of significant changes that will be applied to the Assam Public Service Commission’s Combined Competitive Examination, starting with the upcoming administration.

The overall goal of the APSC CCE syllabus is to evaluate a candidate’s aptitude for civil service jobs as well as their knowledge and proficiency in a variety of academic areas. The Combined Competitive Examination consists of following two successive stages :-

(i) The Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)
(ii) The Main Examination (Written & Interview Test)

Preliminary Examination: The preliminary examination consists of two objective-type General Studies question papers with 200 marks each.

Main Examination: The Main Examination shall consist of a written examination and interview tests. The written examination shall consist of six papers on the subject of general studies. Marks thus obtained by the candidates in the main examination (written part as well as interview) would determine their final ranking.

1. APSC Preliminary Examination Details – APSC CCE Syllabus

Name of Exam: APSC CCE Prelims, 2022

Date of Exam: 26th March 2023 (Sunday)

Types of Questions: Objective Questions

Total Papers: 2 Papers

Full marks: 200 marks for each paper.

Duration of the Exam: 2 Hours for Each Paper.

Negative Marking: One-fourth of the total mark assigned to one question will be deducted for a wrong answer marked by a candidate.

Syllabus: The candidates may refer to the Assam Public Service Combined Competitive Examination (Amendment) Rules, 2019 for the syllabi of General Studies I and General Studies II.

Exam Centres: Barpeta, Bongaigaon, Biswanath Chariali, Dhemaji, Dhubri, Dibrugarh, Diphu, Goalpara, Golaghat, Guwahati, Haflong, Hamren, Hatsingimari, Hojai, Jorhat, Kajalgaon, Karimganj, Kokrajhar, Majuli, Mangaldoi, Morigaon, Mushalpur, Nagaon, Nalbari, North Lakhimpur, Silchar, Sivasagar, Sonari, Tezpur, Tinsukia, and Udalguri.

Syllabus of the Exam: The structure and syllabus of the APSC CCE preliminary exam will be as follows:

  • General Studies-I: General Studies-I will be set in such a way that 30% to 35% of questions will compulsorily be related to Assam.
  • General Studies-II: Candidates should note that the minimum qualifying marks in General Studies-II will be 33%.

2. Main Examination (Written and Interview)

The main examination consists of (A) a written examination and (B) an interview test.

(A) Written Examination

The number of candidates to be admitted to the written part of the main test will be approximately eleven to twelve times the number of vacancies announced for each category, based on the results of the preliminary examination. Selection criteria will be based only on merit, with respect to the upward and downward reservation standards stipulated by the applicable laws.

Medium of Exam: A candidate shall be allowed to write his or her answer papers in English or Assamese.

(B) Interview Test

Name of Exam: APSC CCE Main, 2023

Type of Exam: Interview

Full Marks: 275 Marks

Exam Centre: Guwahati.

A ratio of between one and three will determine which candidates are invited for interviews based on their performance in the written part of the main examination and the number of positions that were advertised.

The candidates’ final ranking would be decided by the marks they received in both the written part of the main examination and the interview.
